The champagne corks were popping at Nottingham City Council as the two millionth inspection was recorded using PSSLive, the paperless playground asset, inspection and task management system supplied by Public Sector Software Ltd.
Nottingham City Council started to use PSSLive late in 2010, following a review of the previous playground inspection and maintenance system it was using.
Since adopting PSSLive, they have been able to improve their inspection, reporting and maintenance regimes for playgrounds, which has led to fewer reported accidents and fewer injury claims against the Council.
At a time when public finances are under pressure, PSSLive has enabled the Council to improve the safety of its playgrounds and reduce costs.
PSSLive and its predecessor, PlaySafe, are being used to inspect over 80% of the UK's playgrounds and the company is currently expanding to the States, where the City of Palo Alto use the app to manage all their assets. With over 10,000 inspections recorded via PSSLive each week, PSSLive is an app that serves its market well and provides the peace of mind demanded by Local Authorities, which require high volumes of secure storage and freely accessible data.
