Aitkens re-launch Aquadyne drainage systems

Aitkens are proud to reintroduce Aquadyne drainage systems into the UK market, with the environmentally friendly system offering a number of benefits against conventional drainage methods.

Whilst it offers many environmental and working benefits against conventional methods of drainage, the main aspect to be noted about Aquadyne is that it will not clog. This fact is at the root of the exceptional performance it offers.

The product is manufactured from 100% post use recycled materials using low energy technology during the carbon positive process, in which 2 tonnes of C02 emissions are saved for every 200 meters of Aquadyne produced.

The system itself is fast and effective, low impact and low cost, coming in up to 20% cheaper than an equivalent conventional system, and is much easier to install because the trenches required are dramatically shallower and narrower.

It also offers greater drainage capacity than gravel and has a percolation rate ten times greater than sand, whilst the capillary properties also enable water to be held within it. Aquadyne also boasts an open pore surface area of 50% compared to perforated pipes which only have 5%.

It combats the major problems of a standard drainage system, with settlement, compaction and infiltration managed consistently and effectively. The system retains essential water reserves thanks to the capillary properties, stopping it from drying out in the summer.

Overall, Aquadyne is much more durable because the panels do not degrade, and can take up to 1000 tonnes per m2 with no noticeable reduction in performance. This means there is less need to renew installations in the foreseeable future.

The system can be incorporated into a wide range of existing systems and applications, offering a simple and sustainable solution. It is ideal for bunkers, eradicating surface water from greens as well as many other situations where drainage is required.
