A nursery in Preston is enjoying the benefits of its new playground all year round thanks to leading artificial grass provider, LazyLawn.
When Rainbow Tots needed a low maintenance alternative to natural turf that could be used in all weathers and seasons, LazyLawn came to the rescue.
Twenty-two square metres of Wonder Yarn 36 were used in the installation, which transformed what previously was an unusable woodland area into a play area perfect for the children.
Trevor McVittie from LazyLawn Lancashire said: “This was a great project to get on board with and I’m delighted the nursery loves their new grass.
“We’ve noticed a huge increase in artificial grass installations in schools.
“Outdoor learning and play are high on Ofsted’s agenda, and recommends that access to outdoor play should be available at all times.
“However, nurseries often find that concerns about bad weather, health and safety and children getting dirty restrict the ability to offer this opportunity all year round.
“Artificial grass is the perfect solution, and can offer a very safe play surface for young children to crawl, walk, run and jump on! It can also enable children to move freely between the indoor and outside environment, therefore expanding children’s experiences of the outdoors.
“We offer a variety of products including roadways kits and caterpillars for schools and nurseries looking to improve their outdoor learning facilities.”
Vicky Shaw at Rainbow Tots said: “We just love our new LazyLawn. It’s perfect for the children whether they are playing, rolling around or having tea and most importantly they can enjoy it in summer and winter – come rain or shine.
“The service we received from LazyLawn was excellent and it’s made such a huge difference to life here at Rainbow Tots.”
