Sales increase leads to new appointments for Alpha Rail

Following their move to a new purpose-built facility in Huthwaite, metal railings and gates manufacturer Alpha Rail has enjoyed a significant increase in sales enquiries.

This expansion has resulted in two new appointments, Ashley Evans has joined as a Project Engineer and Jack Cousins as the firm’s latest apprentice.

Ashley Evans, from Mansfield Woodhouse has joined the firm as a Project Engineer and his responsibilities will include; liaising with clients and customers regarding design and product specifications, producing site layouts and installation instructions using a CAD system, as well as occasionally when required visiting on site locations to carry out surveys.

Ashley holds a BTEC National Diploma for IT practitioners after studying at South Nottingham College and having previously worked for bespoke joinery firm Realm Projects Ltd, will be more than capable of meeting the demands of his new role at Alpha Rail.

Commenting, Ashley said: “I have always been passionate about Computer Aided Design and after completing my qualification, I was keen to join a company where I could use AutoCAD on a daily basis. I knew that Alpha Rail was committed to employing from the local community so when I saw this position was available, I knew it was time for a change.”

Outside of the workplace, Ashley is a keen traveller and enjoys most types of sport including football, Formula 1, rugby and cricket. He is also member at Teamsport Nottingham an indoor go karting club.

In addition to the arrival of Ashley, Jack Cousins has also joined the business as a Fabrication and Welding Apprentice.

Committed to developing the skills of the younger generation and helping the local employment market, Alpha Rail has recently taken on Jack as its third new apprentice.

He has successfully completed his Level 2 PEO qualifications in both fabrication and welding as well as mechanical engineering and becomes another member of a growing and highly specialist team of metalwork fabricators. During his apprenticeship, Jack will develop his skills as well as learn how to safely weld and operate various machinery in order produce the bespoke metal railings and gates Alpha Rail have become renowned for.

Asked about his new role, Jack commented: “I knew that by continuing my apprenticeship with Alpha Rail that I would be working in a safe environment alongside a friendly team of specialists who are also willing to nurture talent and pass on the tips of the trade that you can only learn from practical experience.”
