Addagrip Terraco Ltd
is delighted to announce that its range of Resin Bound surfacing systems has
achieved an Environmental Product Declaration from BRE Global.
Addaset, Addabound,
Terrabound and Terrabase (pictured) Resin Bound porous surfacing systems have been awarded
a Statement of Verification in accordance with the requirements of EN
15804:2012+A1:2013 and BRE Global Scheme Document SD207.
BRE Global is
internationally recognised for its expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and
the achievement of this verification will assist in providing reassurance that
the Addagrip Resin Bound systems have been independently tested and evaluated
in accordance with the BRE''s rigorous verification process and have achieved
an industry recognised mark of quality.
By collecting a
large sum of data such as raw materials, packaging, transport and energy, BRE
were able to calculate the environmental impact 1m2 of the Resin Bound
surfacing systems have from Cradle to Gate. All this information is then
published in an EPD. This EPD can be used by architects, engineers, designers
etc for the Mat01 ‘Building Life Cycle Assessment’ credit of BREEAM 2018 and
would also be used as evidence to contribute to the Mat 02 EPD credit.
BREEAM is the
world’s leading sustainability assessment method for masterplanning projects,
infrastructure and buildings. It recognises and reflects the value in higher
performing assets across the built environment lifecycle, from new construction
to in-use and refurbishment.
BREEAM does this
through third party certification of the assessment of an asset’s
environmental, social and economic sustainability performance, using standards
developed by BRE. This means BREEAM rated developments are more sustainable
environments that enhance the well-being of the people who live and work in
them, help protect natural resources and make for more attractive property
investments.
