With the withdrawal of all products containing Glufosinate-ammonium from the market in January, a huge gap has been left for total weed control, including tough Invasive weeds such as Horsetail or Marestail.
Both are highly invasive deep routed perennial weeds that affect a variety of areas including Cropped Areas, Industrial sites, Amenity Vegetation & Bare areas; it is also particularly difficult to treat with some resistance shown to many other weed killers.
The solution? Agrochemical company Agrigem have unveiled a brand new and exclusive product called ‘Diamond’.
‘Diamond’ replaces the popular ‘Pearl’ & is a fast-acting total herbicide which offers excellent results on many tough weeds including horsetail and is certainly the new ‘go-to’ product for total weed control.
What does Diamond contain?
Diamond is a soluble concentrate which contains the following active ingredients: 160g/l of 2,4-d + 240g/l of glyphosate. It is available in two pack sizes, 1L or 5L, with the 5L covering 10,000m2.
Why use Diamond?
The active ingredients in Diamond offer quicker control of tough weeds, as well as penetrating deeper into the root system than glyphosate alone; making it suitable for seedbed clean-up. Many weeds that are often difficult to kill with glyphosate will be controlled by Diamond. These include: Bracken, Horsetail, Perennial Nettle, Ragwort, Rhododendron and Sycamore.
Once on the foliage, the 2,4-d will break down the leaf tissue, enabling the glyphosate to translocate around the plant far quicker and deeper.Diamond is approved for use on Amenity Vegetation, Orchards, Hard Surfaces (Railway Ballast), and Green Cover on non-cropped areas. Using Diamond will also reduce the amount of glyphosate used per hectare by up to half.
