Anna Nilsson has succeeed in winning the prestigious ‘Women in Turfcare 24’ title at the Women in Golf Awards.
Presented by BBC Sports reporter, Katherine Downes, the BIGGA sponsored category of the WIGA awards is a real accolade and deserved recognition for Anna, the Deputy Head Greenkeeper of The Brabazon course at The Belfry, who is a great champion for women working in the greenkeeping industry.

She was joined among the 150 guests at a glittering ceremony at Foxhills Golf & Country Club by a Syngenta sponsored table of women in greenkeeping, hosted by Syngenta Business Manager, Sarah Hughes and Technical Manager, Sean Loakes, including: Anna Lucas of East Brighton GC; Lottie Fosten and Marija Vidakovic from Wentworth GC; Sasha Shelley, Royal mid-Surrey GC; Ruth Etches, Trentham GC and Lucy Rogers of Kings Lynn GC.
“It was an amazing night and great to celebrate the achievements of so many women that we now see working throughout the golf industry,” says Sarah.
“The skills, experience and enthusiasm all the greenkeepers have for the industry is extremely positive. The WIGA awards gives an insight into what can be achieved and the heights that can be reached as a positive development for their future careers, which we are pleased and proud to support.”
