APPGHG meeting on EHG economic report

Following the EHG report, Oxford Economics Report and Parliamentary reception, the next meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Gardening and Horticulture Group (APPGHG), is scheduled for Wednesday, 29th January 2025.

This pivotal meeting, sponsored by APPGHG Co-Chair Baroness Fookes, will focus on the findings of the recently launched Oxford Economic report, which highlights the substantial economic contribution of the environmental horticulture sector.

The meeting will provide a platform for APPGHG members and industry representatives to engage directly with parliamentarians.

Discussions will focus on:

  • The economic impact of the environmental horticulture industry, as detailed in the Oxford Economic report.
  • Strategies for securing ministerial support for key industry policies.
  • Addressing questions from Parliamentarians on how they can better support the sector through legislative and advocacy efforts.

BALI is committed to representing its members at this important forum. Its delegation will:

  • Highlight the priorities and concerns of our members regarding policy development.
  • Advocate for stronger government support for the horticulture industry.
  • Contribute expert insights into how Parliamentarians can champion the sector in policy and practice.

This meeting is a vital opportunity to ensure the voice of the industry is heard at the heart of government. By engaging with decision-makers, it can secure tangible outcomes, from policy advocacy to increased recognition of the sector’s economic and environmental value.
