CLD Physical Security Systems (CLD), a leading provider of perimeter security solutions, recently hosted a BRE Attack Testing Day, showcasing the strength and durability of its systems under extreme testing conditions to key figures from the utilities industry.
BRE is a globally recognised authority that specialises in testing, certifying and assessing the performance and safety of building products and systems. Through its comprehensive certification programmes, BRE helps manufacturers, designers and building professionals understand the effectiveness of their products.
The event attracted a strong presence, offering attendees a firsthand look at how CLD’s security solutions perform in high-intensity attack scenarios. The testing demonstrated the effectiveness of several key products, including FenceSafe Securus SR1 S2, Securus S2, S3, S4 and Screenogril S2.
Some highlights of the event included the demonstration of Securus S4, which is certified to LPS 1175 D10/E3/G1 (SR4) Issue 8 and is designed to withstand determined attacks using powerful tools, making it ideal for high-risk sites such as power stations, water treatment plants, and gas storage facilities. Its anti-cut and anti-climb mesh construction prevents unauthorised access, while its galvanised and powder-coated steel finish ensures long-term durability even in harsh outdoor environments.
Securus S4 can be integrated with perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDs), CCTV, and lighting, offering a multi-layered security approach tailored to the needs of disparate utilities sites and assets.
Other highlights included the demonstration of FenceSafe Securus SR1’s capabilities. This solution provides LPS 1175 SR1 Issue 7 certified protection while offering rapid deployment and minimal groundwork requirements, making it ideal for sites during maintenance, upgrades or new infrastructure projects.
Its temporary on-ground yet high-security design ensures critical assets remain protected without the need for deep foundations, a key advantage for sites with underground utilities or environmental restrictions.
With plans for another Attack Testing Day later in the year, CLD is committed to driving engagement and innovation in perimeter security.
Roger Knight, Head of New Product Development at CLD said: “The security landscape in the utilities sector is constantly changing, with new and evolving threats from theft, vandalism and terrorism. Continuation of services is critical for utilities providers, with significant penalties for any customer disruption, so security solutions must meet the highest standards of protection.
“This event not only allowed us to demonstrate the strength and resilience of our products but also engage directly with key stakeholders. The feedback was excellent, and we’re excited to host another event later this year to further highlight our security innovations.”
