The Landscape Institute (LI) is delighted to announce Frances Tophill as the host of the Landscape Institute Awards 2025.
The horticulturalist, author and TV presenter is well known for her work as a presenter on Gardeners’ World and Love Your Garden, and as the author of six books on gardening.
Her profile is built on a strong horticultural education and career, including an NVQ, apprenticeship, and a degree in Horticulture with Plantsmanship at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
Frances is currently Head Gardener and Grower at the Sharpham Trust estate in Devon, and in 2022 was awarded best show garden for a sustainable garden design and build at Gardeners’ World Live.
The LI Awards represents the pinnacle of the landscape profession and is one of the biggest and most prestigious industry events, gathering leaders from across the built and natural environment to celebrate people, place and nature, and the myriad ways that landscape projects connect them.
With esteemed horticulture professional Frances confirmed as host, the LI Awards 2025 is set to be an inspirational occasion that will raise the benchmark for excellence in landscape planning, design, management and research both in the UK and internationally. The event will showcase the vital role landscape professionals play in addressing global challenges in climate, nature, and health and wellbeing, while creating better places to live.
Frances Tophill, horticulturalist and TV presenter, said: “I’m delighted to be hosting this year’s Landscape Institute Awards.
“ It’s an honour to celebrate the incredible work of landscape professionals, whose creativity, expertise and dedication play a vital role in tackling some of the most pressing challenges we face, from the climate and biodiversity crises to public health and wellbeing. Landscapes have the power not only to restore ecosystems and support resilient communities, but to bring profound beauty and joy into our lives.
“I can’t wait to be part of an event that shines a light on these inspiring contributions.”
Entry to the Awards has just closed and the finalists will be revealed in August, before winners are announced and presented with their awards at the ceremony, which will take place on Friday 14 November 2025 at The Brewery in London.
