Green-tech Specifier launches Urban Design Roadshow - designing cities for climate resilience – where do we start?

Green-tech Specifier, the technical team of the UK’s leading landscape supplier Green-tech, is taking its expertise on the road this September with the launch of the Urban Design Roadshow, a free event exploring climate-positive urban design solutions.

The first will be held at The Lowry, Salford Quays, on Tuesday, 30th September 2025.

The one-day event will bring together landscape architects, specifiers, and urban design professionals to discuss how Blue Green Infrastructure can help green our streets and shape sustainable, liveable cities.

Attendees will explore practical solutions to today’s most pressing challenges, including water management, biodiversity net gain (BNG), and the impact of rising urban temperatures.

The Green-tech Specifier team will be joined by leading industry experts to deliver a packed programme, covering:

  • Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) – integrating nature and enhancing habitats.
  • Blue Green Infrastructure – balancing rainfall, runoff, and resilience.
  • Water-wise urban greening – managing rainwater in an efficient and sustainable way.

Delegates will also benefit from real-world case studies, innovation insights, and networking opportunities, with lunch and refreshments provided.

The event features presentations from:

  • Georgia Gilbert, Head of Wildflower at John Chambers Wildflower Seeds, part of the Green-tech family.
  • Seraya Sigsworth, Head of Blue Green Infrastructure at Green-tech.
  • Tom Young, Blue-Green Infrastructure Associate at TEP and Board Member for the Green Roof Organisation (GRO).

Speaking ahead of the roadshow, Seraya Sigsworth, Head of Blue Green Infrastructure at Green-tech, said, “Urban spaces face growing pressures from flooding, biodiversity loss and climate change. This roadshow aims to demonstrate how nature-based solutions can create greener, healthier environments for communities. By bringing together policy, innovation and practical design, we can help shape future-ready cities that work with water, not against it.”

Spaces for the Urban Design Roadshow are limited and can be booked via https://forms.office.com/e/8CK4ETh5Yv
