Whitecraigs Golf Club has strengthened its long-standing relationship with manufacturer Jacobsen and Scottish distributor Fairways GM, based in Inchinnan, by signing a second consecutive machinery fleet agreement.
The club, a parkland course on the south side of Glasgow between Giffnock and Newton Mearns, features an 18-hole course and a 9-hole par-3 layout.
It has favoured Jacobsen mowers for more than two decades, with the first formal partnership beginning in 2020. In July 2025, Whitecraigs renewed that commitment, reflecting its continued confidence in both performance and service.
Whitecraigs was also one of Fairways GM’s early customers when the company began trading in 2004, and the enduring relationship highlights the support and trust built up over two decades.
Course Manager Andy Wilson, who leads a team of eight, said: “We’ve worked with Fairways GM for a long time now, and the support has been second to none. The mowers cut particularly well, and we know we can rely on the team whenever we need them. If I call, I know they’ll be out the same day or first thing the next morning. That kind of reliability is invaluable when maintaining courses like ours.”
Central to the new deal is the upgrade of the club’s Jacobsen Eclipse 360 greens mower, which has moved from a hybrid model to a fully electric version: “It’s out on the course at 05:00 am on competition days when we need to get ahead. The Eclipse 360 is virtually silent — the only sound being the reels at work. There’s no disturbance to neighbours, the absence of hydraulics removes any concerns about potential leaks, and the quality of cut is just immense.”
The agreement also adjusts the overall fleet from six to seven machines. An LF570 large area reel mower has been added to boost productivity, while a TR320 has replaced the previous TR330.
“The TR330 had a unit which could shift sideways. The greenkeeper most frequently on it said we were paying for a function we weren’t really using and suggested the fixed position was good enough,” Andy Wilson explained. “That meant we were able to divert funds towards the upgrade to the all-electric Eclipse 360 Elite, which is ensuring a first-class, consistent playing surface. However, the TR320 itself gives a phenomenal cut and has proven to be an excellent fit for the course.”
Fairways GM’s Area Sales Manager, Stuart Cameron provided sales support throughout.
