For Golspie Golf Club, maintaining a course that blends Links, Heathland and Parkland demands machinery that can do it all.
That’s why Head Greenkeeper Muir Ross turned to the ISEKI TG 6507 from Fairways GM.
A versatile, reliable tractor that delivers value, comfort, and ease of use across every corner of the course.
Tucked away on the east coast of the Scottish Highlands, Golspie has been welcoming golfers since 1898. Just 10 miles north of Dornoch, the club’s unique mix of landscapes makes it both a favourite with players and a challenge to maintain, requiring equipment that adapts as quickly as the team behind it.
“Our last tractor was 25 years old, so we decided to approach our Fairways colleagues,” explains Muir. “We tested two or three demonstrators and decided the TG was the best one for us, just for all-around capabilities. We try and get as much for our money as we can, and the ISEKI range easily provides that.”
On any given day, the TG 6507 could be fitted with the front loader for topdressing, handling the verti-drain, or hooked up for spraying duties. With a lift capacity of around 1.5 tonnes, Muir knows the tractor is comfortably equipped for every task the club demands now and in the future.
That versatility is matched by simplicity. The IQ gearbox enables Muir and his team to set a precise working speed, eliminating the need for clutch control. “The IQ gearbox is a great feature because it’s a bit simpler, you don’t need to worry about clutches or anything like that,” Muir explains.
“Ease of use nowadays is a big thing for just about any golf course, especially for training purposes. Someone had their first time in the tractor today spraying, and after a quick briefing from myself, he didn’t have any problem at all. Everything is right there for you and very easy to understand.”
Operator comfort also plays its part in day-to-day efficiency. The TG6507’s spacious, air-conditioned cab is designed for long shifts, something Muir and his team appreciate: “You could be in there for up to eight hours. It’s very comfortable, plenty of room, everything at your fingertips, and we had a radio put in as well because you just need some tunes in there!”
Beyond Golspie, the TG6507 has built its reputation as one of the most versatile tractors in the ISEKI range. Powered by a 50hp Stage V engine, it delivers the strength needed for heavy-duty turf implements while remaining fuel-efficient and compliant with modern emission standards.
The IQ dual-clutch gearbox offers smooth, clutchless operation with a choice of automatic or manual modes, giving operators flexibility and control. With a high lift capacity, powerful PTO, and the option of a fully air-conditioned cab, it’s a machine designed to meet the daily demands of golf courses, sports turf, and grounds teams alike.
Ultimately, Muir sees the TG 6507 as an investment in both performance and peace of mind. “It’s vitally important to know through Fairways and ISEKI themselves that build quality and reliability are there. They’re just solid, hardworking tractors that do what they say on the tin. It’s as simple as that.”
