Marshalls launches Dutch Entrance Kerb range to support safer, more inclusive landscapes

New product now available to help contractors and specifiers deliver safer crossings at cycle tracks, footways and side road junctions

Marshalls has launched its new Dutch Entrance Kerb range, providing local authorities, contractors and specifiers with a purpose-designed solution for creating safer crossings where vehicles pass over cycle tracks and footways.

Now available across the UK, the range has been developed to support the continued rollout of improvements to active travel schemes and streetscapes that prioritise pedestrians and cyclists while maintaining access for vehicles.

Designed for use at side roads, private entrances and junctions, the Dutch Entrance Kerb creates a continuous route for pedestrians and cyclists across crossing points, while requiring vehicles to mount a raised kerb crossing that encourages lower approach speeds and greater driver awareness. This reduces conflict points between road users and helps create calmer, more controlled streets without compromising traffic flow.

A key feature of the Marshalls solution is its 1-in-12 gradient centre stone ramp, designed to meet inclusive mobility guidance requirements and support wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility.

Manufactured at Marshalls’ West Yorkshire site, the range is available in natural and silver grey finishes, and has been designed to integrate with Marshalls’ wider kerb systems, helping streamline specification across highways and public realm projects.

The range includes centre, left-hand end and right-hand end units, and is compatible with Marshalls’ Active Travel, Conservation and standard kerb ranges. The corner unit matches standard kerb heights to provide seamless transitions within mixed installations.

Suitable for use alongside tarmac and resin bound surfaces, the Dutch Entrance Kerb has been created with practical installation in mind, helping contractors deliver robust, repeatable crossings on highways and public realm projects.

Mike Goodwin, Regional Trading Director, Marshalls said: “As towns and cities continue to prioritise active travel, inclusive access and safer streets, demand is increasing for infrastructure that supports these ambitions in a practical and durable way. Our new Dutch Entrance Kerb range gives specifiers and contractors a purpose-designed solution that improves pedestrian and cyclist priority, supports accessibility and helps create safer shared environments.”

The launch strengthens Marshalls’ portfolio of products for active travel schemes, giving the market access to solutions that help deliver safer, more sustainable streets and public spaces.
