Traffipave is a unique, cost effective sustainable ground surface system designed to minimise the overall depth of construction and reduce installation time and giving a long term and full natural growth pattern.
The system has the benefit of proven technology developed over 30 years incorporating the use of aggregate or grass filled recycled plastic 40 mm grass/gravel grids on a structural fibre reinforced layer of Fibresand. Thus negating the need for thicker traditional aggregate sub layers and geotextiles.
The unique Fibresand combined sub-base and bedding layer provides a shallow, porous solution compliant with SUDS, health and safety and CDM regulations. Rot proof polypropylene fibres stabilise the sand and provide a high degree of resistance to sand particle movement when the surface is subjected to compressive and/or shear forces during trafficking.
Based on research by Cranfield University and endorsement by the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service, Fibresand can be used extensively in fire access roads, car parking and pedestrian areas. The Traffipave system will perform under loads of up to 40 tonnes even in wet weather conditions.
Specially selected hard, clean sand from local sources is mixed on site or nearby to give Traffisand free draining capabilities so that surface water resulting from heavy rainfall is quickly removed.
The Traffipave system is the perfect SUDS solution for a diverse range of porous paving applications including car and coach parking, general aviation parking and grass taxiways, emergency and service access roads, wind turbine access routes, highway HGV laybys, public parks and large event venues. Surface finished can be designed to suit the clients.
