Encouraging development through play has always been a focus for play equipment company Monster Play @ Caloo.
Monster Play recently completed a project for RAF Marham in Norfolk, a densely populated military housing area – home to many families.
Working with the Client the main aim was to install large units that could accommodate lots of children and enhance their imaginations. It was a priority that at least one unit could accommodate Wheelchair users. The site needed fencing and the existing play area was to be converted into a separate Skate Park aimed at Teenagers.
Two fantastic adventure play units were installed, the "˜Oakley Estates Supermax' for older children containing 11 activity areas and the "˜Clipper Pirate Ship' for younger children with 14 activity areas. These two units are Gold Award products for encouraging communication, sensory, physical and cognitive skills through play.
Cradle and flat swings, see-saws, an accessible whirl and a new skate park were also installed to provide additional opportunities for play. Safety surfacing was installed around each piece of equipment alongside furniture and fencing for the whole site.
