ACO Water Management has expanded its most popular range of
monocast drainage channels to deliver greater hydraulic capacity and cut
installation costs.
MonoDrain is a monolithic general purpose channel drainage system
for surface water conveyance and is suitable for the core application of
channels drainage in car parks, town centres and commercial developments.
The new MonoDrain PD150D is an expansion to the existing PD100D
channel. Made from the same high strength Vienite polymer concrete, the PD150D
has an increased bore width of 150mm, allowing for a greater hydraulic capacity
across a larger surface area.
Also, it requires fewer drainage runs to manage the water, making
the PD150D a solution for larger projects, with the assurances of BS EN
1433:2002 certification and a load class of D 400 for general vehicle parking
areas.
The channels are available in one metre lengths, improving
installation speeds, while each unit requires just 100mm of concrete haunching.
This allows for up to 41% less concrete use compared to other monocast
channels, and up to 56% versed grated channel equivalents. As a result,
specifying the MonoDrain system could equate to significant savings over £5.07
per metre*.
Designed for lifetime integrity and security, the expanded
one-piece range – in which the inlets and channels are fully integrated -
includes 10mm Heelguard inlets. Available in three colours – black, grey and
natural – the channels provide engineers and architects versatility for their
designs, making it possible to co-ordinate with asphalt, concrete or natural
paving.
Additionally, the range has an improved access unit,
incorporating a thermoset composite frame and lid to provide protection from
oxidation. The self-locking function allows easy access, while the channel can
be maintained in the same way as a traditional grated system through pressure
jetting.
