The Makita range of linetrimmers and brush cutters features cordless, electric and petrol models for every task. Many models feature the latest 4-stroke MM4 engine technology which bristles with design innovations to deliver more horsepower, more torque and more reliability than the same capacity 2-stroke motor whilst at the same time dramatically reducing exhaust emissions, cutting fuel consumption, lowering noise and limiting vibration. Makita’s high-technology 4-stroke MM4 engine is the heart of the EX2650LH split shaft brush cutter that can be fitted with four useful optional attachments – linetrimmer, cultivator, pole saw and hedgetrimmer. This versatile grounds care machine is ideal for maintenance contractors, major property owners and tool hire operations.
The latest Makita 2-stroke engine in the new ER2600L 25.7cc 1.2hp linetrimmer is equipped with a catalytic muffler to fully comply with EPA and EU Stage 2 emissions regulations. The bent-shaft configuration enhances the balance and control of this trimmer, which weighs just 4.3kg, and has a low vibration D-style forward control handle. The new design of compact line-head protector provides a better view of the cutting area without loss of clippings control.
Also new to the range is the DUR364LZ Twin 18v limetrimmer which uses the brushless motor for increased power and longer run time. This line trimmer will run up to 6,000rpm and has a maximum 350mm cutting diameter. Weighing just 4.5kg this trimmer is well balanced with an ergonomically designed forward D handle and soft grip control, with electronic 2-speed control and reverse switch conveniently placed on the handle. The normal speed performance is controlled in Eco-mode for longer run time while the reverse facility helps to clear grass clippings from the line head. A major attribute for operators is the low vibration rating of just 2.5 m/s² whilst those nearby will welcome the ultra-low noise output of just 81 dB(A). This latest model is powered by Twin 18v batteries which are directly installed on the machines to supply energy to the powerful 36v DC motor
