Lantra at GroundsFest 2025

Lantra is looking forward to being at GroundsFest 2025, the UK’s largest grounds management event, based at Stoneleigh Park.

It is excited to return as an exhibitor at stand 47 this year, where it will showcase latest training and qualifications designed to support professionals across the landscaping and grounds maintenance industry.

With a dynamic mix of both indoors and outdoor activities and demonstrations, the event provides great opportunities to network and bring together like-minded industry professionals, in addition to meeting those interested in pursuing a career in the industry.

On the stand, Lantra will be promoting its Certificates of Competence in the safe operation of Landscape Tools and Mowers, plus the recently updated Safe Use of Pesticides Suite.

It will be launching the highly anticipated Integrated Weed Management Awareness course at the event. Developed in partnership with Kersten UK, the course supports the 2025 Pesticides National Action plan by equipping local authorities and landscape operatives with the knowledge to plan, and implement, integrated weed management strategies across various types of land.

The course:

  • Is designed for both operators and decision makers
  • Includes a theory assessment
  • Awards Learners with 6 BASIS CPD and NRoSO points upon completion.

Furthermore, it will also be conducting an on-stand survey to gather feedback on the proposed Level 3 Award in Pitch Inspection. The goal is to support a consistent, standardised approach from grassroots to professional grounds and referees.

Lantra is sponsoring the seminar theatre, leading a discussion session at 11am on 9th September. Chaired by Lantra trustee, Professor John Moverley, the session will explore the prominent challenges and opportunities around recruitment and retention in the Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance industry.

The panel will involve Lantra’s Head of Industry Partnerships for Landscape and Rural, David Fisher, and several industry representatives including:

  • Mike Chappell- Managing Director, Chappell Enterprises UK
  • Tom Arnold – UK Lawncare Association
  • Richard Stow – Managing Director, WeedFree Limited
  • Victoria Fiander – Horticulture Consultant & End Point Assessor,

The panel will convey personal experiences from across the landscaping industry, using experiences to evaluate how best to progress forward and improve the appeal of industry job roles to new entrants, in addition to better promote career progression routes.
