Autumn and winter bring a different set of jobs for grounds maintenance teams.
The Makita UX01G 40VMax XGT Brushless Split Shaft Motor Unit can be used for all of these tasks - simply by changing the attachment.
The UX01G uses a lever-style locking system, making it quick and easy to swap between attachments. This means users can carry one power unit and select the attachment they need for the job, rather than taking several different machines to site.
There are several attachments that are particularly useful at this time of year. The 199318-5 Roller brush can be used to clear paths, car parks and other areas of leaves and debris. For snowy conditions, the SN400MP Snow blower attachment provides a way to clear snowfall from paths and other outdoor areas.
Wet weather can also leave areas of standing water. The DEAPF400MP Pump attachment can be used to clear or transfer water, adding another useful application to the system. For tree maintenance, the 191T38-7 Pole Saw attachment is suitable for pruning, allowing users to reach higher branches from ground level.
There are plenty of other options too. The UX01G motor unit is compatible with further attachments including a pole hedge trimmer, line trimmer, edger, cultivator and blower, so the same power unit can be used for a range of jobs throughout the year.
The UX01G is powered by Makita’s 40VMax XGT battery platform and has three speed settings, allowing users to adjust the performance to suit the application. It also features Active Feedback Sensing Technology (AFT), which stops the motor if rotation suddenly slows, helping to reduce kickback.
Its split-shaft design places the motor at the harness end, helping to keep the machine balanced during use. The adjustable shoulder harness and loop handle also make it more comfortable to use for longer periods.
